WhatsApp doesn't have a public feed, so PilotPost sends your post as a message to a list of contacts who have agreed to hear from you. You need your own WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API) number from Meta.
Only message people who have opted in. WhatsApp bans numbers that send unwanted messages.
What you need
From WhatsApp Manager → API setup in your Meta Business account:
- Phone number ID
- Permanent access token: a system-user token with the
whatsapp_business_messagingpermission
Connect
- On the Accounts page, click Connect WhatsApp Business.
- Fill in:
- Phone number ID
- Permanent access token
- Recipients: one phone number per line, in international format without + or spaces, for example
35799123456. - Template name and language (optional; see below)
- Click Connect.
You can change the recipient list any time on the Accounts page. Edit the list and click Save recipients.
The 24-hour rule and templates
WhatsApp only lets you send a free-form message to someone who messaged you in the last 24 hours. For everyone else, you need a message template approved by Meta, with one {{1}} variable in the body. PilotPost puts your post text into that variable.
Limits
- One image or video per post. Only the first one is sent.
- Up to 1,024 characters with media, or 4,096 for text only.
