You connect your social accounts on the Accounts page, which is in the left-hand menu once you're logged in.
How connecting works
There are two kinds of connection:
- Log in and approve. This covers Facebook, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and X. Click Connect, log in on the network's own page, and approve PilotPost. You come straight back to PilotPost with the account connected. We never see your password.
- Fill in a short form. This covers Bluesky, Telegram and WhatsApp Business. Click Connect, fill in the details, and click Connect again. Each of these has its own guide.
One account per network
Each PilotPost account holds one brand, so you can connect one account on each network: for example one Facebook Page, one Instagram account and one LinkedIn profile. Once a network is connected, its card shows ✓ Connected.
To manage another brand or client, create a separate PilotPost account for it.
How many networks you can connect depends on your plan. Starter includes up to 5 networks; Pro and Agency include every network. The counter at the top of the Accounts page shows how many you've connected.
What the status badges mean
| Badge | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Connected | All good. Posts will publish. |
| Last post failed | The account is connected, but the last post was rejected. Hover over the badge to see why. |
| Reconnect needed | The network's permission has expired or was removed. Click Reconnect. |
Reconnecting an account
Networks sometimes ask you to approve access again. For example, LinkedIn asks about every 60 days, or after you change your password. Click Reconnect next to the account and approve it again. Your scheduled posts stay in place.
Removing an account
Click Remove next to the account. PilotPost stops posting to it and deletes its access. You can connect a different account on that network afterwards.
Each network's own rules
Under every network on the Accounts page, To publish shows what that network needs: for example "Needs an image or video" for Instagram. See What each network needs for the full list.
