Connect Facebook, Instagram and Threads

What you need before connecting Facebook Pages, Instagram Business or Creator accounts and Threads.

Facebook

PilotPost posts to a Facebook Page, not a personal profile. Facebook doesn't let any scheduling tool post to personal profiles.

  1. On the Accounts page, click Connect Facebook.
  2. Log in to Facebook and approve access to your Page.

If you manage several Pages, PilotPost uses the one Facebook marks as your default. Each PilotPost account connects one Page.

Instagram

Instagram only lets scheduling tools publish to Business or Creator accounts.

Before you connect:

  1. In the Instagram app, go to Settings → Account type and tools and switch to a Professional account (Business or Creator). It's free.
  2. Make sure the account is linked to your Facebook Page if Instagram asks for it.

Then:

  1. On the Accounts page, click Connect Instagram.
  2. Log in and approve access.

Every Instagram post needs an image or a video. Videos are published as Reels, and several images become a carousel.

Threads

  1. Click Connect Threads.
  2. Log in with the Instagram account your Threads profile uses, and approve access.

Threads posts can be up to 500 characters with one hashtag.

If something goes wrong

  • "Reconnect needed": click Reconnect and approve again.
  • Instagram posts fail with an account-type error: check that the account is still Business or Creator.
  • See Troubleshooting for other errors.
