Free Instagram image resizer

Resize any image for an Instagram square, portrait or landscape post, a Story or Reel, or your profile picture. It's done in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.

These are recommended sizes. Networks change them from time to time, so check their help pages if something looks off.

How to use it

  1. Choose an image from your device or drop it on the page.
  2. Pick the Instagram size: square, portrait, landscape, Story / Reel or profile picture.
  3. Choose Fill to crop the edges, or Fit to keep the whole image on a background color.
  4. Download it and post it, or schedule it with PilotPost.

Tips

Portrait takes up more of the feed

A 1080×1350 portrait post fills more of the screen than a square one, so it's a good default for feed posts.

Leave room in Stories

Instagram puts your name at the top and reply buttons at the bottom of a Story. Keep text and faces in the middle.

Center your profile picture

It's shown as a small circle, so keep your face or logo in the center with some space around it.

Use Fit for wide photos

If cropping would cut off something important, use Fit and pick a background color that matches the photo.
