What is Stories?

Stories are short photos or videos that appear in a separate full-screen format at the top of an app and usually disappear after a day.

Stories feel casual and personal, which makes them great for behind-the-scenes moments, quick updates and daily offers. Because they disappear, people often watch them more freely, and you can post more often without crowding your main feed.

Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and some other networks offer stories. They usually last for a limited time, though you can save them to highlights on your profile. Stories support stickers, polls, questions, links, music and text. Viewers tap through quickly, so each frame needs to be clear at a glance.

Post stories regularly to stay at the top of followers' screens. Use polls and question stickers to invite interaction. Keep text short and large. Save your best stories, like FAQs, reviews and services, into highlights so new visitors can find them later.

Example

A cafe posts a story each morning showing the day's fresh pastries, with a poll asking which one followers would pick.
