What is carousel?
A carousel is a single social media post that contains several images or videos people can swipe or click through, one after another.
Carousels let you tell a fuller story in one post. You can share step-by-step guides, before-and-after photos, product collections or short lessons. Because people swipe through several slides, carousels can keep them engaged longer and are often saved for later.
Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and some other networks support carousel or multi-image posts, though they may use different names. On LinkedIn, a similar result is often created by uploading a document that people click through. The number of slides allowed varies by network and changes over time.
Make the first slide eye-catching, with a clear promise of what is inside. Keep each slide focused on one idea and use the same design style throughout. End with a final slide that asks people to save, share or follow for more.
Example
An interior designer posts a carousel showing a living room makeover, with one slide for each step from empty room to finished space.
