The Sound section appears in the composer as soon as you've added an image or video.
Add a sound file
- Click + Add a sound file.
- Choose an audio file: MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV or OGG, up to 50 MB.
- Press play to check it.
The sound is added before the post is published, so it works on every network that takes video. If the sound is shorter than the video, it loops.
Sound on a video
Choose how it's added:
- Replace the video's sound: the original audio is removed and your sound plays instead.
- Play under the original sound: your sound plays quietly behind the original audio. Use the Sound volume slider to set how loud it is.
Sound on images: images become a video
If your post has images only, adding a sound turns them into a vertical video (9:16) that lasts as long as the sound, between 5 and 30 seconds. With several images, each one gets an equal share of the time.
- Networks that take video (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook and others) get the video.
- Networks that only take images (X, Bluesky and Pinterest) still get your original images.
This is the easiest way to post a single photo to TikTok, which doesn't accept one photo on its own.
TikTok's recommended music
For a TikTok photo post (2 or more photos and no sound file), the composer shows Let TikTok add recommended music. Tick it and TikTok adds a popular track that suits your photos when the post goes live.
Instagram Reel audio name
When you post a video to Instagram, you can give its sound a name under Network options, for example "My Brand – Summer promo". It's shown instead of "Original audio", so others can find and reuse your sound. Instagram only lets you rename it once.
Music rights
Only use music you own or have the rights to, such as royalty-free tracks or your own voice-over. Networks may mute or remove posts that use copyrighted songs.
