Connect X (Twitter) and Bluesky

Connect X with one click and Bluesky with an App Password, plus the limits for each.

X (Twitter)

  1. On the Accounts page, click Connect X (Twitter).
  2. Log in to X and click Authorize app.

Limits on X:

  • One X post per day on every plan, because X charges for every post made through its API. If you try to schedule a second X post on the same day, PilotPost will ask you to pick another day or untick X.
  • Up to 280 characters and 4 images.
  • Video isn't supported yet. If your post has a video, untick X for that post.

Bluesky

Bluesky uses an App Password, a separate password you can delete at any time without changing your real one.

  1. In Bluesky, go to Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords and click Add App Password. Name it "PilotPost" and copy it.
  2. In PilotPost, click Connect Bluesky and fill in:
    • Handle: for example yourname.bsky.social
    • App password: the one you just created
    • PDS: leave blank unless you host your own Bluesky server
  3. Click Connect.

Limits on Bluesky:

  • Up to 300 characters and 4 images, each under 1 MB.
  • Video isn't supported yet.

To disconnect, remove the account in PilotPost, or delete the App Password in Bluesky.
