What is evergreen content?
Evergreen content is social media or web content that stays useful and relevant for a long time, rather than depending on news, trends or a specific date.
Evergreen content keeps working long after you publish it. A helpful tip, guide or explainer can be reshared many times, bringing in new viewers each time. It is also a great way to keep your feed active during busy periods, when creating fresh posts is hard.
Common examples include how-to posts, answers to frequently asked questions, beginner guides, checklists and stories about your business. Pinterest and YouTube are especially good for evergreen content because people search them for ideas long after posting. On faster-moving feeds, evergreen posts can be reshared with fresh images or wording.
Keep a library of your best evergreen posts and reshare them every so often, adjusting the visuals and caption. Check old posts now and then to update anything that has changed, such as prices or contact details. Mix evergreen posts with timely content.
Example
A garden center reshares its "how to water houseplants" carousel every few months with new photos, and it keeps bringing in fresh followers.
