What is saves?

Saves are the number of times people bookmark your social media post so they can find it again later, usually in a private collection.

A save is a strong signal that people found your content useful. Unlike a quick like, saving means someone plans to come back. Many networks treat saves as a sign of valuable content, which can help your posts reach more people.

Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, X, LinkedIn, Threads and Facebook all offer some way to save or bookmark posts. On Pinterest, saving a Pin to a board is a core action and helps content spread. Most saves are private, so you see the count in your analytics, not who saved it.

Create content people will want to revisit, such as checklists, how-to steps, recipes, tips and guides. Carousels and infographics often earn many saves. Add a gentle prompt like save this for later. Check which posts get the most saves and make more in that style.

Example

A meal-prep coach shares a weekly grocery list carousel that followers save and use when they shop.
