What is cross-posting?
Cross-posting is sharing the same piece of content on more than one social network or account, either word for word or adjusted slightly for each one.
Cross-posting helps you get more value from each piece of content. Instead of creating something new for every network, you can share your best ideas wherever your audience is. It saves time and keeps your presence active across platforms.
Some networks link together, such as Instagram and Facebook or Instagram and Threads, making cross-posting quick. Scheduling tools can publish to many networks at once. However, each platform has its own style, size requirements and audience habits, so a post that works perfectly on one may feel out of place on another.
Adjust captions, hashtags and mentions for each network, and check images and videos are the right shape. Remove references that only make sense on one platform, such as "link in bio" on a network where links work in posts. Watch results to see where each type of content works best.
Example
A real estate agent films one short home tour video and shares it on Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts with a different caption for each.
